All Box One and Box Two cranksets are engineered around Box’s Oversized Technology™ platform with one primary goal in mind: maximizing power delivery and pedaling stiffness. After all, there’s no point pushing harder on the pedals if that energy cannot efficiently transfer to the rear wheel.
To minimize lateral deflection at the bottom bracket, Box dramatically enlarged both the spindle diameter and crank arm interfaces. Material was strategically removed from low-stress zones and reinforced in critical high-load areas to create a crankset that is both lightweight and exceptionally stiff. The result is more efficient power transfer, quicker acceleration response, and reduced energy loss under heavy sprint efforts.
The Box One M35 crankset pushes oversized spindle technology to the extreme with a massive 35mm Praxis™ spindle interface. While the spindle diameter is enormous, Box maintains competitive weight through the use of premium cold-forged 7075-T6 aluminum — an alloy known for combining low mass with near steel-like strength characteristics.
The oversized crank arms are hollow-forged with optimized wall thickness focused around high-stress zones, while a stabilizer ring reinforces the spider structure to resist twisting under load. The system is secured using a precision CNC-machined chromoly/alloy self-extracting crank bolt assembly.
Important: Modern oversized frame standards are required for compatibility with the M35 platform.
