Unlike standard flat BMX shoes designed mainly for freestyle or park riding, the S1 Accel is purpose-built for BMX racing. While traditional flat shoes prioritize casual comfort and skate-style flexibility, the Accel focuses on power transfer, foot stability, and protection at speed.

The STKgrip rubber outsole uses a race-specific sticky compound to deliver a stronger pedal connection during gate starts and sprints, while still allowing controlled release. Reinforced toe box and heel construction, along with a raised ankle cuff, provide added protection against crank and drivetrain contact—features rarely found on standard flat BMX shoes.

A micro-adjustable dial closure system with soft lace technology ensures a precise, secure fit, reducing foot movement during high-intensity racing. A breathable tongue improves airflow, keeping feet cooler during hot race days and extended training sessions.
